1988-Katherine Frewing Shallenberger


Katherine Frewing's sports were volleyball, basketball and track while at CHS. In 1987 she was named to the second team All-City in both basketball and volleyball. In 1988 she was named first team All-City is basketball. Also in 1988, she was PIL high jump champion. Katherine attended Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota where she was twice voted All-Conference honors in volleyball. In basketball, she was three time All-Conference, twice All-Region and in 1992 she was named an NCAA Division II All-American.

Keith Krafve ('82) excelled in three sports for CHS. He was 1st team All-City in football in 1981. He earned 2nd team All-City basketball honors in 1982. He was a two-time 1st team All-City in baseball and 1st team All-State in 1982. He earned four varsity letters in baseball while at Oregon State University. In 1986 he was named his college team's Most Improved Player. Keith played one year of professional baseball for the Everett Giants. Keith is currently employed as a correction officer for the Multnomah County Sheriff's Department.

Mark Gronvold ('77) was outstanding in football, wresting and track. He earned All-City and All-State honors in football and was a two time PIL champion and sixth in state wrestler.
