Forrest "Skeet" O'Connell was a 1930 Commerce grad who competed in track and field events for the school. He was city and state champion and set new state records in his event during two consecutive years. He was also All-League in basketball and went on to play for Oregon State in both basketball and track. He was inducted into the PIL Hall of Fame in October, 2004.
